Thanks to valuable customer suggestions, directNIC's ownership transfer process is easier than ever. The person receiving the domain sends a request to have the domain transferred to his or her account. This incurs a US$15.00 transfer fee on the recipient.

   A request for the transfer is then sent to the existing registrant. Once the current domain owner approves the transfer, we move the domain to the new recipient's account and an additional year is added to the expiration date.

   This process is similar to transferring domains from another registrar, but is handled separately. For information about transferring domains from a different registrar, click here
